Such a great family shoot! Originally the plan was to take photos in front of some type of pine tree for the brown contrast, I arrived on location at the Historical Village in Okemos, MI around 30 minutes before the shoot began to do what I usually do with new locations, scout the area. First thing I noticed was there was a lack of pine trees around the area towards the parking lot, and I figured I would have to go back in the forest to try and find a good location. After searching I had to head back to meet the clients. When I got out I found the Ziehmers as they were just arriving. After talking with them we all decided to give the barn a shot for the family photos instead of the pine tree, and after a few shots everyone was really happy with how they turn out!

So many times in photography you get a curveball thrown at you, whether it be from weather, a client who changes their mind, or technical issues as long as you’re prepared and calm things can still turn out well!
